Giving the knife a white handle brings out an unsuspected grace; the energy of its glow echoes that which seems to emanate from the blade. Adam’s “crushed faerie wings” Damascus design conjures up a world beyond the senses. The way he gets them to shine through in one flowing motion across the guard; the subtle detail of the blued titanium spacer; so many touches that demonstrate absolute command of the craft and impeccable taste. It is a knife forged to fulfill every demand placed on it as an instrument that must be counted on; at the same an object where art and craftsmanship merge to evoke emotions that resonate deep within.

Knifemaker

Adam DesRosiers

From Alaska, USA.

Adam knows and loves knives for as long as he can remember. Born into a family of homesteaders and commercial fishermen, the feeling a knife in his hand on a daily basis has been familiar to him from the age of three. Adam’s art is founded on an intuitive understanding of how to use knives and a lifetime of studying the design aspects that make them perform as tools and weapons. Adam began making knives professionally in 2004, attending the American Blade Society’s bladesmithing school and studying under Master Smiths, such as Jason Knight and Rodrigo Sfreddo. He achieved his Master Smith rating in 2011. He lives off-grid with his wife Haley, also a Master Smith, and their two young children. Hunting, fishing, bladesmithing and
pioneer living are part of their everyday way of life.
