Adam DesRosiers M.S. #2
INQUIRIES ONLY
If forging steel conjures a violent treatment of metal, Adam astonishes us with the serene lightness, even playfulness that can result. His hallmark “crushed faeries wings” Damascus pattern dances across the blade, shining through in one flowing motion across the guard. A mastery of the material that is unparalleled. The choice of a hidden tang construction magnifies the strong black handle’s resolute presence, blending power and panache. The blued titanium spacer subtly evinces the latter. Here, too, Adam proves that preparing a knife for its destiny as a true companion and able partner in the wild does not necessarily preclude gracefulness and sophistication.

Knifemaker

Adam DesRosiers

From Alaska, USA.

Adam knows and loves knives for as long as he can remember. Born into a family of homesteaders and commercial fishermen, the feeling a knife in his hand on a daily basis has been familiar to him from the age of three. Adam’s art is founded on an intuitive understanding of how to use knives and a lifetime of studying the design aspects that make them perform as tools and weapons. Adam began making knives professionally in 2004, attending the American Blade Society’s bladesmithing school and studying under Master Smiths, such as Jason Knight and Rodrigo Sfreddo. He achieved his Master Smith rating in 2011. He lives off-grid with his wife Haley, also a Master Smith, and their two young children. Hunting, fishing, bladesmithing and
pioneer living are part of their everyday way of life.
